Following the announcement in Russia of the mobilisation of reservists and the threats issued by the military criminal, Vladimir Putin, to use nuclear weapons in order to take the occupied territories of Ukraine into the Russian Federation, the Russian Anti-War Committee declares:
- Every person of honour who has a conscience and every citizen of Russia should oppose Putin’s criminal regime;
- All those who voluntarily cooperate, or will cooperate, with the criminal plans of this regime will end up in court;
- All those who try to avoid being called up to fight in this criminal war, all those who will dodge the call-up, run away from the recruiting offices, surrender on the battlefield, or cross over to fight on the side of those who are defending Ukraine, should be granted every help and support;
- The Anti-War Committee will provide all possible humanitarian assistance under the “Kovcheg” (“The Ark”) Project to refugees and to soldiers who cross over to the side of the people of Ukraine; and we express our hope for the cooperation of the citizens and governments of Europe in helping to solve this issue;
- We are convinced that at this stage negotiations with Putin’s regime are pointless, and we call for comprehensive military and economic assistance to be given to Ukraine to help it defend its sovereignty. In the current situation the only way to bring about an end to the war and to stop Putin’s energy and nuclear blackmail is for his forces to be defeated on the field of battle as soon as possible.
