French association “Russie-Libertés”

The French association “Russie-Libertés” aims to support the development of democracy in Russia. We strive to disseminate objective information about the political situation in the country: about the work of political institutions, civil liberties and human rights in Russia. We are giving a voice in France to representatives of Russian civil society persecuted by the Kremlin authorities.

Russie-Libertés strongly opposes Russian aggression in Ukraine. We support anti-war movements in Russia and demand trials of those responsible for the attack on Ukraine and for war crimes committed by the Russian army. We fight propaganda in Russia by supporting independent Russian journalists, artists and activists.

Since its creation, Russie-Libertés has organized numerous actions, conferences and other events with members of civil society, journalists, academics, politicians, trade unionists, artists, French and Russian activists.

The Association organizes and participates in debates, incl. in the media field. We regularly publish articles, tribunes and press releases in the French and European press, and participate in broadcasts of the French media, talking about the other Russia.

We wrote several reports on topics such as corruption and women’s rights, and, together with other organizations, published in France Boris Nemtsov’s report “Putin. War”, as well as the books “Other Faces of Russia” and “Thanks to them, journalism lives in Russia!”.

Our numerous actions and publications are made in collaboration with other French and international NGOs such as Amnesty International, FIDH, RSF, les Nouveaux Dissidents and Mémorial France.

We are grateful for the support of numerous French and European public figures.
